Timișoara Convention Center is a mixed-use building for Bega Group, combining an events and conference venue with a residential component on the upper terrace level. named directly in Optim Project Management's six-year reference letter for Alexandru's work as cost & commercial manager and project manager.
The mixed-use brief meant coordinating two very different design and fit-out standards under one contract: large-span structural and MEP works for the event spaces below, residential finishes above. Alexandru's role covered both. running the design coordination across geotechnical, structural, and MEP consultants, and keeping the commercial side (valuations, cash flow, subcontractor payments) on schedule through to closeout.
At €13M+, it's one of the largest single contracts in his Optim PM portfolio, and one of the clearer examples of what "cost & commercial manager" means in practice on a live, multi-phase build.
Over six years, Alexandru worked across cost & commercial management and full project management. from tendering and contracting through design coordination to handover. He guided design teams through geotechnical, structural, and MEP coordination, ran weekly site meetings, and kept budgets, risk plans, and stakeholder communication on track from kickoff to closeout.
